The singer Rihanna has angered the Hindu community with a “disrespectful”  Instagram picture  in which she wears a diamond-studded pendant featuring the Hindu god Ganesha.

  The singer looked incredible in a pink feathered dress to join crowds at the colourful carnival, which is celebrated every year to honour the end of the sugar cane season.  

Rihanna has  vowed to fight against "racial inequality, injustice, and straight-up racism" by showing solidarity with the black community and encouraging her followers.
